It is John and Peter running to the tomb on Resurrection morning
Life speeds along, and best intentions to post about grandbabies are lost in the wonderful moments of being with grandbabies. Not a bad trade off. However, this blog is important to me to provide updates and communications with those far and wide. This past year has seen Meema and Grandpa going to Mexico alone, after we asked four different friend couples to go with us. I am trying not to have a complex about it. Sorry we did not ask our children to go, but it was during school which you all are in like Flynn - hard to get away. We spent time at Jessie's family condo last spring -a delight and so generous of the Lindorfs. We went to Paris and Amsterdam in July where I gave a paper at a conference. In September, we went to Hawaii and then California a week later for Dan's H.S. friends reunion. Bryan and Suzanne came with us to San Clemente, and then came back in August to welcome Suzanne's parents back from their New Zealand mission. In Kauai, we stayed near where they filmed Jurassic Park, and many other movies. Caleb and Lucy come every Wednesday for a couple of hours while Lara teaches music lessons. We are still loving our family dinners on Sunday where everyone comes. Vivi from Germany is here right now staying with Anna Marie. She hosted Anna Marie last spring. She is staying in Amy's room while Amy is in Jerusalem and loving being eaten by mosquitoes in Egypt. She said, wouldn't it be funny it I got West Nile, west of the Nile - which she literally was - could see the Nile. Lucy is getting quite a personality and Caleb is her fine companion. They are a delight. Daniel is attending pre-school every day and loving it and so is Jane. Maren announces with great volume and delight all her potty successes. I grieve a little at the fleeting summer and even fall weather. My Dad announced what he termed bad news: the doctor told him he might live till 100. He is trying to be happy at the thought. He sometimes wishes he was on the other side, in fact he has been that way his whole life. Maybe it comes from his near death experience which you will have to ask him about. Well there are my random thoughts and updates. I will try to attach some relevent pictures to this randomness.
